Day 1 : Airport transfer.
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcome by your driver guide who will transfer you to your booked accommodation : Evening at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at Hotel des Mille Colline (Mid-range) or Five to Five Hotel (budget). Meal Plan : Dinner
Day 2 : Kigali - Akagera
A safari game drive at Akagera National park, located at the southern part of the country boarder in Tanzania will always blow your mind as you do a game drive in this beautiful and only savannah park in Rwanda.
You will be picked at 5am by your driver guide from your hotel and straight away head off to Akagera which is roughly 2 and half hour drive., register with park officials and get your safari game drive started. You will head off to search for wildlife and keep your eyes open to sight some buffaloes, impalas, zebras, giraffes, elephants. You will drive to section of Lake Ihema side where you will have a picnic lunch as you proceed with your full day game drive to see the endless plain full of variety of wildlife. At the lake shores, keep your eyes for the large Nile crocodiles and hippos, number of bird species are sighted here, including the goose, white egrets, and much more.
In later afternoon, your will drive back to Kigali. Dinner and overnight at Hotel des Mille Colline (Mid-range) or Five to Five Hotel (budget). Meal Plan : Dinner.
Day 3 : Kigali - Nyungwe
You will be picked by your driver guide after your morning breakfast and drive Huye to visit the Ethnographic museum before you head for lunch. After lunch you will head to Nyungwe for a forest walk, on the suspended 90 meters metallic bridge which gives you a great view of the entire forest, as you watch a number of monkeys swing from one branch to another. Number of bird species can be sighted as well. You will later return from the forest and drive to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House : Meal Plan : Lunch dinner
Day 4 : Chimpanzee trekking & transfer to Musanze
After your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park for briefing and later you enter the forest in search for these primates. One hour will be allocated to you, to spend with the chimpanzees upon finding them. You will have enough time to take some good pictures to create your strong memory of your visit to Africa. You will later return from your trekking head for lunch and later be transferred to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park where you will your dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation option : le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid-range) or Muhabura lodge (budget). Meal Plan : Full board.
Day 5 : Gorilla Trekking & Cultural visit
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home.
After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, ready for a village foot safari, to explore the indigenous local life with a taste of the traditional performance. Diner and overnight at le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid-range) or Muhabura lodge (budget). Meal Plan : Full board.
Day 6 : Transfer to Kigali airport.
Today after your relaxed warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you back to Kigali to the airport to catch up with your flight to your home country. End of service !
